Plant Transformation Research Center


PTRC Services Include:

  • Consultation and training in the application of new technologies in transformation and molecular analyses of both monocot and dicot plant species
  • Provide assistance in the initial stages of the transformation process including different methods of DNA transfer into desired plant species (Agrobacterium, biolistics, electroporation and vacuum infiltration)
  • Provide centralized facilities, state-of-the-art equipment, and materials to various research groups
  • Carry out contract transformation and in vitro tissue culture services

Plant Transformation Contracts

The PTRC currently offers Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of: 

  • Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana)
  • Alfalfa (Medicago sativa)
  • Citrus (Citrus spp.)
  • Jatropha (Jatropha curcus)
  • Medicago truncatula
  • Poplar (Populus tremula)
  • Potato (Solanum spp.)
  • Rice (Oryza sativa)
  • Tobacco (Nicotiana tabaccum)
  • Tomato (Solanum spp.)
